Getting Started

Commercial plans

Commercial plans of Fabric Migration workload unlock additional functionality.

Code migration

When translating SQL code, it is crucial to test the code well. Even with the most careful translation, platform differences may cause change in behavior that affects your business logic. In free plan, you have full testing framework enabled - but you need to specify every test case yourself. Writing out appropriate procedure and function parameters one by one takes time.

In paid plans we SQL Tran uses its powerful static analysis engine to generate thousands of tests for you in mere seconds. It analyzes your code, samples the test database data and specifies appropriate parameters. It can create up to 20 tests per object at a time, which is plenty, and you can re-run generation of tests at any time if you wish to have even more than 20 tests per object. With this capability you can start with just an SQL script to create a project, and end up with a fully tested live target database in a very short time.
