For security and performance reasons, data migration is performed by running Omni Loader, a separate application, outside Microsoft Fabric.

Click the Data projects button in the toolbar to see the screen showing link to Omni Loader. If it isn't running yet, you will see the offline status screen.

Click the Download Omni Loader button and install it on a machine close to your source database (whether that's on-premises or in the cloud VM in the same region). Once Omni Loader is running, click the Show activation code button, copy and paste it into Omni Loader activation screen.

Once activated, the Fabric Migration workload will mirror information in Omni Loader. As an example, if Omni Loader has a single project, this is how the screen in it looks.

At the same time, Fabric Migration workload will display the same information but with Fabric look and feel.
