PROJECT

Overview

The project overview is where you manage a project. It opens when the wizard finishes and whenever you open a saved project.

Connections

The top of the screen shows the source and target databases. If Full Convert couldn't connect to one of them when the project opened, the overview says so. Click the database to correct the connection details and try again, without leaving the project. Browse source and Browse target open the built-in data browser, where you can look at the tables and their data on either side.

Actions

  • Copy your database starts the conversion. In a replication project the buttons are Compare table data, which finds the differences, and Replicate differences, which applies them to the target.
  • Last run review shows the review of the most recent run of this project.
  • Project options opens the project options.
  • Scheduled jobs opens the scheduler to run this project on a schedule.
  • Refresh metadata reads the table structures from both databases again and re-maps all tables. Use it when the databases have changed since the project was opened.
  • Open, Save, Save as... and Close work on the project file. Save before running from the console or the scheduler.

Project tables

All tables from the source database are listed, selected by default. Deselect the ones you don't want copied. All and None change the whole list at once.

If you have many tables, type into the filter box to find the ones you need instead of scrolling. As you type, the list is filtered in real time. Filtering does not change the selection, it only narrows what you see. Toggle listed selects or deselects the tables currently shown, so to copy just a few tables from a large database, click None, filter for the tables you want and click Toggle listed. The number of selected tables is shown above the list.

Show selected only and Show invalid only filter the list by state. Tables with a problem are marked and block the run until they are fixed or deselected; Deselect invalid deselects them all at once. See Troubleshooting mappings.

Icons next to a table tell you at a glance that it is manually mapped, that some of its columns are deselected, or that it uses a custom WHERE clause or a custom comparison key. Edit opens the table mapping for that table.
